Our Roots

McDonald Volkswagen traces its origins back to a family farmer in Yakima, Washington. In 1928, Stanley McDonald, seized an opportunity in the car industry that would change his family’s destiny forever. With determination and hard work, Stanley established himself at a local Dodge store, eventually acquiring his own Dodge dealership in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1948.

In 1958, Stanley’s son, Doug McDonald, joined him in the family business. Together, they transitioned into the world of Volkswagen, opening their own Volkswagen store in Littleton, Colorado, in 1965. This marked the beginning of our longstanding commitment to providing exceptional automotive experiences.

Our Dedication to Serving our Community as McDonald Automotive Group has Remained Unwavering.

Over the years, McDonald Volkswagen evolved and expanded its offerings. From acquiring Monarch Mazda, Monarch Volvo, and Pioneer Audi to venturing into Hyundai, Mazda of Lakewood, and eventually Toyota, our dedication to serving our community remained unwavering.

With each acquisition and expansion, McDonald Automotive remained true to its core values of integrity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Our commitment to excellence led us to establish our own Collision Center and Reconditioning Center, ensuring that our customers receive comprehensive automotive solutions under one roof.
